(Chorus)

Jeremiah shook his finger,
Jeremiah said, "Behave,"
Jeremiah said, "Don't linger,"
Jeremiah said, "You'll pay."
Jeremiah was a prophet,
From a long, long time ago,
He tried to warn the people,
To behave or they must go.
But the people wouldn't listen,
They only laughed and teased,
He told them to be careful,
For God must be appeased.
(Chorus)

Jeremiah shook his finger,
Jeremiah said, "Behave,"
Jeremiah said, "Don't linger,"
Jeremiah said, "You'll pay."
Jeremiah was arrested,
Jeremiah went to jail,
Still the people would not listen,
And he thought that he had failed.

The people just ignored him,
They had plans of their own,
So God came down and got them,
And exiled them from home.
(Chorus)

Jeremiah shook his finger,
Jeremiah said, "Behave,"
Jeremiah said, "Don't linger,"
Jeremiah said, "You'll pay."
They lost friends and relatives,,
Their sisters and their brothers,
Their aunties and their uncles,
Their fathers and their mothers.
But, many long years later,
God forgave them once again,
He said, "You may come home now,
If you promise not to sin."
(Chorus)

Jeremiah shook his finger,
Jeremiah said, "Behave,"
Jeremiah said, "Don't linger,"
Jeremiah said, "You'll pay."
