GOD'S IRISES

 

Shades of purple, hints of yellow,
Lavender and violet hues,
Regal, royal Irises,
Proud Spring flowers on review.

 

Flags unfurled at full-mast,
Sword-shaped leaves unsheathed,
Standing tall to line the path,
Banners blowing in the breeze.

 

Along the Road of Resurrection,
Irises in full array,
In profuse, profound  announcement,
Of the Blessed Day.

 

The Iris was, and is, and will be,
A confirmation of rebirth,
And, as each Spring awakens,
God's Irises will fill the earth.
